SCGRR welcomes back 2025 rescue beneficiary guest: Golden Bond Rescue!

Golden Bond Rescue is thrilled to be invited back for our fourth visit to Goldie Palooza! We are looking forward to another opportunity to meet as many golden retrievers as we possibly can, and to interacting with their humans, and the amazing vendors and volunteers on our favorite day of the year.  We will be bringing our popular rescue van photo backdrop, merchandise for sale, and our donation dog that will happily gobble up donations to help continue our rescue efforts. Please come visit our booth to say HI, so Kristin can snuggle your goldens. See you there!

MEET SPECIAL GUEST

AUTHOR OF“CHICHI THE RESCUE DOG”, ELIZABETH HOWELL

Chi Chi was a Rescue Dog, Therapy Dog and Hero Dog. She was rescued in South Korea by the Beagle Freedom Project. Chi Chi needed to have portions of all four of her legs amputated in order to save her life. She wore custom prosthetic legs so she could walk, run and play. Chi Chi was a certified Therapy Dog and shared her love with people of all ages in schools, libraries, medical facilities and care homes. Chi Chi was the 2018 American Hero Dog and Hero Therapy Dog. Her extraordinary story has inspired thousands of people around the world. @ChiChiRescueDog.

Book signing will take place from 10 am until 12 pm on April 6 at our Golden Village (located between the 2 rescues). Proceeds will benefit SCGRR and DOMO’s Friends rescue.

In addition, Elizabeth Howell will do a brief presentation by the stage area about their rescue stories, expiring people to rescue senior dogs and those with extra needs.

MEET SPECIAL GOLDEN GUEST: San Diego Bruce

San Diego Bruce is the online name of a golden retriever who went viral on social media. His owner, Laura, created an Instagram account for Bruce to document his puppyhood.

“He’s just the friendliest dog you’ll ever meet,” says Laura. She got Bruce when he was 8 weeks old and immediately started taking lots of pictures. She created his Instagram page as a convenient way to store his puppy progress, but then random dog lovers started to take notice and suddenly Bruce was going viral.

More golden fun at Goldie Palooza 2025!

Earning AKC titles for your dog is considered fun because it represents a tangible achievement that demonstrates your dog's abilities, the hard work you've put into training together, and signifies a strong bond between you and your canine companion, allowing you to celebrate your shared accomplishment and potentially participate in competitive dog sports with a recognized standard; essentially, it's a way to showcase your dog's unique skills and the dedication you've invested in training them.
